Tyler Garrett

Tyler was a 2 time IHSAA State Champion. He was 3rd in the discus in 1995 and also set a Freshman State Record of 172' 4".  Tyler was again 3rd in the discus in 1996. He was runner-up in 1997 in the discus and set a Junior State Record of 63' 2.5" in the shot put. Tyler won both the I.H.S.A.A. shot and discus titles in 1998. He had high school bests of 64' 2" in the shot and 203' 1" in the discus. Tyler won both the shot and the discus at the Midwest Meet of Champions in 1998. He was All-SEC in the discus at the University of Tennessee in 2000 and 2001.

Megan Pierce

Megan was a State Finalist in the IHSAA 400 for 4 consecutive years. She placed 2nd in 1994 with a time of 57.04. Megan again placed 2nd in 1995 with a time of 56.52. She placed 3rd in 1996 with a time of 57.25. In 1997, Megan placed 2nd for the third time with a time of 56.25. She was an NCAA Division III 2 time National Champion in the 400 and was a 4 time All-American at Calvin College. Megan holds the school record of 53.97.

Henry Hopkins

Henry coached teams to 4 Sectional Track Championships. He had 22 pole vault State Finalists. Henry coached 2 I.H.S.A.A. State Track Champions.- 1 in the pole vault and 1 in the 1600. 11 of his vaulters have been 14' or higher. He has officiated at the NCAA Championships, Pan Am Games, USATF Nationals, and the Olympic Trials. Henry vaulted 12' or higher for 38 consecutive years and cleared 13' at the age of 50. He set a National Masters' Record of 4:28.5 for the decathlon 1500. Henry was been National Masters' Athlete of the Year in 1984, 1988, and 1990.

John Chastain

In cross country, John coached his teams to 11 Sectional Championships, 4 Regional Championships, and 2 State Finals appearances. In track, John had 6 Sectional Championships, 1 Regional Championship, and 30 State individual qualifiers.  He coached the 1978 I.H.S.A.A. Long Jump Champion and was a Midwest Meet of Champions assistant coach. John was an outstanding track coach for 42 years.

Alisa Raymond

Alisa was a 4 time IHSAA State Champion. She won the shot put in 1992 with a 44' 1" throw and was runner-up in the discus. In 1993, Alisa won again in the shot with a State Record throw of 46' 5". She also won the discus with a throw of 138' 1". In 1994, Alisa won the I.H.S.A.A. Shot Put Championship for the third straight time. She threw 44' 10" and was again a runner-up in the discus.  At Purdue University, Alisa threw 48' 1" in the shot and 154' 2" in the discus. She won a silver medal in the shot for the USA Junior Team in the Pan American Games in 1995.

Amanda Bell

Amanda was a 3 time I.H.S.A.A. State Champion. She won the 1997 I.H.S.A.A. 1600 in 4:58.57 and won the 1998 I.H.S.A.A. 1600 in 4:58.63. She was 2nd in the Midwest Meet of Champions 1600 in 1999.  Amanda was 5th in the I.H.S.A.A. State Cross Country Meet as a sophomore, 6th as a junior, and was State Champion as a senior in 1998. She finished second in the Mideast Meet of Champions.  At Indiana University, Amanda was All-Big 10 her freshman year.  After graduating from IU and with one year left of eligibility, Amanda enrolled at the University of Louisville where she became their top runner.

Dave Wollman

Dave won the NCAA II Shot Put Championship for Indiana Central University in 1977. He was runner-up in 1978 and 1979. At Stanford University, Dave coached 2 Olympians, 4 NCAA Champions, and 44 All-Americans. At SMU, he has produced 160 All-Americans and 32 NCAA Champions. 21 of his SMU athletes have competed in the Olympics. In the 2000 Olympics, 4 of his athletes competed in the discus and 7competed in the 4 throwing events. In the 2004  Olympics, 3 of his athletes competed in the discus and 1 was the bronze medalist.

Brett Tipton

Brett was a 2 time I.H.S.A.A. 1600 meter State Champion. He won in 1998 with a 4:14.90 and won in 1999 with a 4:12.9. Brett was the National Indoor 800 Champion in 1999. He was the State Indoor 800 meter record holder with a 1:51.77. Brett ran a 1:51.09 outdoors in 1999. He also was on the 4 x 800 meter Relay team that won the I.H.S.A.A. State Championship in 1997.

Craig Watcke

Craig was the I.H.S.A.A. 3200 meter State Champion in 1985 with a 9:07.63. He ran a 9:05.19 at the Indy Prep Invitational earlier that year. Craig was an N.C.A.A. All-American at Kansas University in the indoor 3000 meters and the outdoor 10,000 meters. He was Big 8 Indoor Champion in the 3000 meters, the 5000 meters, and the Distance Medley Relay in 1989. Craig was the school record holder in the indoor 5000 meters with a 13:51.82 and in the outdoor 10,000 meters with a 28:51.24

Billy Walker

Billy was the 1990 I.A.T.C.C.C. Official of the Year. He was the 1996 U.S.A.T.F. Official of the Year. Billy was the 1986 I.H.S.A.A. boys' and girls' head starter. He was the White River Games head starter in 1985, 1986, and 1987.  Billy was the Indiana Official of the Year in 1986 and 1991.

Gene Edmonds

Gene Edmonds has been involved in coaching and officiating in Indiana for over 50 years. Gene

coached in high schools at Jackson Township (Tippecanoe County), Chalmers, and Rensselaer. After retiring from coaching at Rensselaer Central High School, Gene continued his career as a Throws coach at Purdue University for 9 years. In addition, Gene served as an Assistant Coach for the Midwest Meet of Champions, and Assistant Throws Coach of the North Team for the Olympic Sports Festival.  Over the years, Gene coached many high school conference and sectional team champions. Gene coached two IHSAA State Champions and one Runner-Up in the discus. While at Purdue, Coach Edmonds produced 4 Big Ten Champions, 1 Runner-Up Champion, 3 All Americans, and 1 NCAA National Champion.  Coach Edmonds became a Certified Master Track Official in 1979, and has officiated at all levels from Pee-Wee TAC, to the Olympics. He has officiated at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, USA T&F Outdoor and Indoor Championships, served as Director of officials for the NCAA Indoor Championships for 8 years, was Director of officials for the World Police and Fireman Games, Director of the Bomber-Boiler Relays for 20 years, officiated the USA/USSR Meet, and officiated the IHSAA State Track and Field Meet to mention a few. Coach Edmonds has been named Horace Crow National Official of the Year, Andy Bakjian National Official of the Year, Indiana TAC Official of the Year, and has been a recipient of the Meredith Payne Award.  Gene has officiated at the Olympic Trials on 5 occasions, and at the Olympic Games twice.  There are few in the state of Indiana that have given more to the sport of Track and Field than Gene Edmonds. Along with his wife Rose, who is also a well known and respected official, Gene continues to officiate meets across the country, and to coach any athlete willing to put in the time and effort to improve their performance. Gene Edmonds has dedicated his life to the sport of Track and Field.
